Built in the 50’s, this art deco inspired family home was at risk of being demolished for units in the popular bayside suburb of Highett. However the clients contacted us about a modern extension on the rear whilst also retaining all art deco features, and thoughtfully restoring the existing home and upgrading its essential services.

The tall rear north facing glazed wall of the extension captures the winter sun deep into the main living area of the new building which offers a master suite, bedroom, laundry, large kitchen and lounge room. The new outdoor area was formed from the remains of the original garage and provides generous outdoor entertaining area and stainless kitchen overlooking the plunge pool.
