Carpentry apprentice Job description.

As an apprentice your most important task is to watch, listen and Learn. Your first lesson is to always carry eye and ear protection AT ALL TIMES. Your eyes and ears are yours for life, look after them! They are also the most important tools you’ll need to learn. Your second most important task is to respect the older guys on site, whether they are carpenters, plumbers, painters, or concreters, show your respect and learn from their experience.

Tasks include
  • Site cleaning – Site cleaning is an everyday job and the most important part of WH&S.
  • Assisting qualified carpenters with all aspects of building and construction which includes site set out, cut and place steel reo, footings, concreting, stumps, demolition, timber framing, waterproofing, scaffold setup, decking, cladding, and internal fixing/fit out.
  • Taking delivery of building material, carrying, and stacking.
  • Setup and pack up daily of tools, ladders, leads, and hoses.
  • Make sure power tool batteries are always charged every day
  • If required, attend trade schools to complete learning modules to complete your carpentry apprenticeship qualification.
  • BE ON TIME, we start and finish as a team

  • Work location: most of our work is located in the outer east, based in Yarra ranges/Belgrave.
  • Work hours: 7:00 – 3:30 Monday to Friday. 30 min lunch break at 11:30
  • Type of work: Domestic Architectural construction. We build from start to finish, the right applicant will gain experience in all aspects of carpentry and the building industry.
  • Qualifications: Year 12 certificate and completion of the carpentry pre ap is preferred.
  • Drivers license and car is required.
