Originally built in the 70s, this house was saved from demolition by a thoughtful owner and a talented architect who saw the building’s potential.
Around 70% of the original structure was retained whilst adding on about 50m2 of floor area, a new roof frame to most of the build, and a new lightweight metal roof with comprehensive box gutters to compete with the contemporary design.
Features include energy-efficient windows, new insulation, plumbing, and electrical throughout to bring the existing building into the modern era.
It also comprises a lap pool, a large open plan kitchen with stone bench tops, a butlers pantry, 2 modern bathrooms, a study, and 3 bedrooms.
It took approximately 8 months to complete, from this project we managed to recycle the kitchen, half the original windows, old appliances, curtains, timber, and almost 1 tonne of metal.
